we just stayed at the "lodge on the beach" for one week, 2 adults and 2 kids (4 and 6, they slept on 2 extra mattresses in the room). it's been a wonderful week, with all of us loving the relaxed atmosphere in the lodge and the proximity to the beach (step out of your room and walk down 1 minute). very convenient are the two basic but lovely restaurants close by. michael and cat and are wonderful hosts and manage the place with love and great enthusiasm. leave your door open all night long and listen to the waves rolling in, guaranteed to keep you sleeping deeply! we'll definitely be back soon, got infected by pondo-fever!

Cath/Mike, can you post GPS Coordinates of your premises so that we can search for it on Google Maps and for programming in our GPS devices. Thanks Shah

Hi Looking for B+B facilities at the Lodge for two over a week-end anytime from now? (Fri and Sat nights) How far away are your from the reputed fishing areas? Would it be safe to fish the river (Umzimvubu) at night and would I need a vehicle to get there? Bait freezing facilities... avail at the lodge? I do not mind sharing with others.I do not mind last minute notice. Is it possible to travel to Umgazi River Bungs for the Sat eve seafood? Advisable? Please advise with your charges. Many thanks indeed Desmond

Hi Guys! Back in Belgium. Had an awesome stay in your lodge and the company was extremely good wasn't it? I miss your Paradise Big Time, but I'll be back ASAP. Say Hello to the lot! Tim

I would just like to thank you Cat & Mike for the wonderful stay at the Lodge. Cat and Neo - you were such a delight. your breakfasts and excellent dinners have truely spoilt us both. I was so looking forward to returning to the Port St. Johns of my childhood which of course is greatly changed, but thanks to your hospitality our stay was exactly what we wanted. No matter what happens around one, the memories stay intact and it was such a joy spending time with you. I hope that your business really flourishes and that you continue living life with dear, sweet Neo. We will surely be making a plan to return to you For anyone wanting to experience the 'wild coast' at it's very best Lodge on the Beach is the best place to do it. lots of love Philip and Kay

We stayed last week-end, it is a small place very quiet over looking a Caribbean style bay. It is a family run business, very clean, they were very friendly and helpful. But it is not a 3 star establishment! They really need Mosquito screens we were eaten alive! We had to leave at 02:00 in the morning because of the loud music coming from the shabeen across the bay, we couldn't sleep.

Hi there, I'm an woman with a few disabilities! My breathing is compromised and in have a failed knee replacement. In addition to this, I'm large! The above compromises my ability to walk long distances. However, i stop and start and get where i want but for climbing anything like rocks and ladders! Sounds awful but not really! I apologize for sharing therewith you, however, it will effect my needs. I am looking for a very reasonably priced room, single pax , which affords tranquil seaviews . I would also like to be able to meander to the beach and swim. I am also looking to buy locally fished crays and mussels! I am quite able to camp provided my vehicle is close by, if there is that option. My intended stay would be for 2 nights depending on my arrival time. I am driving up from near Plett. I would like to spend 2 whole days in the vicinity, which would entail 3 night's i guess. Many years ago i stayed somewhere there, in rondavels with friends, self catering, but help from locals in making the fire to cook etc, and they provided us with fresh crays ,etc and fish! It was wonderful. So, i am hoping to relive some memories knowing full well things have change, including my health. I am on my way to UK to live with my son as he looks after me. I am originally from Zim although my maternal grandparents and mother lived in the Transkei. My mum was born there. They lived in Lusikisiki for the most part. Not in my memory banks, only photos! :-) If I ever return to Africa, i would be most surprised, and ecstatic! However, this is the now! Too much info? LoL apologies. Kind regards Wendy Thank you for ' listening ' to my whole story! I am
