The Lodge on the Beach - Port St Johns

we just stayed at the "lodge on the beach" for one week, 2 adults and 2 kids (4 and 6, they slept on 2 extra mattresses in the room).
it's been a wonderful week, with all of us loving the relaxed atmosphere in the lodge and the proximity to the beach (step out of your room and walk down 1 minute). very convenient are the two basic but lovely restaurants close by.
michael and cat and are wonderful hosts and manage the place with love and great enthusiasm.
leave your door open all night long and listen to the waves rolling in, guaranteed to keep you sleeping deeply!
we'll definitely be back soon, got infected by pondo-fever!

Looking for B+B facilities at the Lodge for two over a week-end anytime from now? (Fri and Sat nights)
How far away are your from the reputed fishing areas?
Would it be safe to fish the river (Umzimvubu) at night and would I need a vehicle to get there?
Bait freezing facilities... avail at the lodge? I do not mind sharing with others.I do not mind last minute notice. Is it possible to travel to Umgazi River Bungs for the Sat eve seafood? Advisable?
Please advise with your charges.

your breakfasts and excellent dinners have truely spoilt us both.

I was so looking forward to returning to the Port St. Johns of my childhood which of course is greatly changed, but thanks to your hospitality our stay was exactly what we wanted. No matter what happens around one, the memories stay intact and it was such a joy spending time with you.

I hope that your business really flourishes and that you continue living life with dear, sweet Neo.

For anyone wanting to experience the 'wild coast' at it's very best Lodge on the Beach is the best place to do it.

We stayed last week-end, it is a small place very quiet over looking a Caribbean style bay. It is a family run business, very clean, they were very friendly and helpful. But it is not a 3 star establishment! They really need Mosquito screens we were eaten alive! We had to leave at 02:00 in the morning because of the loud music coming from the shabeen across the bay, we couldn't sleep.
