Friends Wild Coast
Friends Wild Coast is situated in the picturesque Bomvu River bay in Coffee Bay. Friends is sprawled over 2 properties across the road from each other, and comprises of Friends Guesthouse, Friends Café, and Friends Backpackers.
If you seek something that is neither hotel nor backpackers, you will find comfort at Friends Guesthouse, which offers a space that is yours to unwind in. A home away from home. A stone and thatch building, it began life as one of the original rondavels in Coffee Bay and gradually grew into the rustic character accommodation it is today. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and open onto a large relaxed living room from where you can watch the village life unfold.
Friends Café offers home-made meals, freshly baked breads and cakes, fresh veg juices, shakes and smoothies, all served with a side-portion of epic Wild Coast views.
Friends is a refuge to escape to. It boasts a rejuvenating and relaxing view of the bay and the plush forests that sweep over the hills and coastal cliffs. Scattered across this beautiful landscape are the traditional Xhosa homes where livestock roams freely between the paths.
Just over the road, Friends Backpackers celebrates diversity, and you can mingle with the locals around the sunken fire circle, enjoy a wood fired pizza, or party in the Paradise Bar. You can stay in one of the dorm rooms, or treat yourself to en-suite accommodation.
There are also campsites available in the magical, indigenous garden forest.
There are numerous activities to enjoy when staying at the backpackers, and nearby attractions include the famous Hole In The Wall and Mapuzi caves.
Facilities include Dorm rooms, private en suite double rooms, camp sites and the Sea View Café Sports Bar with Pizzas & DSTV.
Friends Wild Coast is owned and run by Jo and Linda. Their world travels, passion for the environment, nourishing food, and love of people has fused into a funky, vibrant and spectacular space in the corner of Coffee bay.
Friends have a genuine passion for providing guests with a memorable experience, and boasts locally sourced produce and a menu that adapts to the season. Breakfast and filter coffee at Friends Sea View Café is the best way to start your day. Fresh sea food is sourced from the rich ocean. Daily bakes, sweet and savoury, accompany the choice of fresh sandwiches on home made bread.
