    Whilst sitting on the deck, feet up, watching the sun set, gin and tonic in hand, aaaah! what could be better. The coals on the braai should just about be ready for those scrumptious steaks and boerewors that you brought with you. Prawns and Calamari are for another night, maybe with some good friends who will bring along the Vino.

    Waking up is another experience, it gets light really early and somehow you just can't stay in bed. The Sun rise is so beautiful with the birds singing and the horn bills watching your every move. The view of course just takes your breath away making you realize that Morgan Bay is a truly special place to be. Mmmmmmm, smell the bacon sizzling under the grill, with your eggs waiting to be cracked open and gently eased into the pan. Shall that be one egg or two this morning love? I am sure all of the above rings a bell and is a pleasant reminder of what holidays are all about. "I'll join you with my fresh fruit and yogurt this morning, lets sit together on the deck and enjoy the view"

    All bedding is supplied, but not towels.
    There is a satellite t.v. in the main bedroom, which allows you to watch your favourite programs. The main bedroom has a small lounge/reading area, giving you a choice of staying in bed or sitting on the comfy chair. you will need your Dstv smart card.

    If you would like a house maid, just shout! this can easily be arranged as we have our lovely Mavis always waiting in the wings to tend to your every need.

    umThombe Kei River Lodge

    umThombe Kei River Lodge is situated on a 160ha private nature reserve along the banks of the Great Kei River. Self-catering accommodation is offered in rustic thatched chalets: one 6-sleeper and three 4-sleepers. Each chalet has a fully equipped kitchen and a braai area. Camping is provided in grassed sites.

    There are several hiking trails on the nature reserve, ranging from relaxed strolls through riverine forest to more serious hill-climbs, with rewarding views of the sea and Kei Mouth. Or be adventurous and explore the magnificent forests on the other side of the Kei River. We can provide maps and direct you to the best natural features, including Picnic Pool, Gxara Falls, the wreck of the Jacaranda and The Gates. Over 140 species of birds have been recorded.

    Please note: The lodge is situated on a remote private nature reserve. Road access can sometimes be difficult, especially after rain, and is recommended for 4x4 vehicles only.

    Benmore Lodge

    Benmore Lodge offers 2 bedrooms in each chalet. The main bedroom has a king size or 2 single beds, the second bedroom has two double bunks, each chalet sleeps up to six people. All duvets and linen are supplied. The bedrooms are large and airy with ceiling fans. The dressing table has plug points for hair dryers and cell phone chargers. The bedrooms have built in cupboards with hangers supplied. Feather pillows are available on request. The bathroom has both shower and bath.

    The kitchen is fully equipped, including toaster, kettle, microwave and fridge/freezer. All that you need to bring is your food and drinks. The lounge area is large and airy, with sliding doors opening onto a deck with wonderful views of game reserve and Transkei across the river. The dining area also overlooks the game reserve.

    Chalets are serviced daily. There is a trading store on the adjoining Benmore Farm which can provide all basic foods, toiletries etc. The trading store also has a huge freezer if you need to store meat, bait etc. Benmore Lodge overlooks the private game reserve and is just 3 km's from beach. We offer lovely meals at our pub 'n grub named "The Shed".

    How to get there:-

    Situated just 3 km's before Kei Mouth, turn left at Benmore Lodge/The Shed sign at the bottom of the road.

    Special Features:-

    Each chalet has braai facilities.
    Undercover braai facilities at ‘The Shed’, which is 40m (strolling distance) away from the chalets.

    The thatch house is set in a lush green belt, 2 min drive or 10 min walk from the Morgan Bay beach. The lower deck looks over the green belt while the upper deck has views over the green belt and the lagoon, incredible for bird watching and just soaking up nature while still being close to the beach.

    We are fully booked between 11 December 2010 and 12 January 2011.

    Downstairs is a large 65m2 open plan area with french doors and large windows leading onto the deck. The open plan area has a large lounge, fully outfitted kitchen and dining room. The bunk bed for two adults/children is screened off in the downstairs area.

    Tanglewood house has an upstairs bedroom with a king size bed and a double bunk downstairs and is fully equipped self catering for 4 people. There is a washing machine and the house is fully serviced.

    There are a number of stairs which unfortunately makes the house unsuitable for wheelchair access or physically challenged people.

    Rates:

    Out of season rates: R420 per night for 2 people,
    R100 per extra person, max 4 people.

    In season rates: R800 per night for 4 people,
    R80 per extra person over 12, max 4 people.

    White Clay Challenge

    It's time for the 50km "White Clay Iron Man Challenge" again.

    Of course the Comrades was last week, so there may not be as big a turnout as hoped for. Anyway, it's not too late to start training for next year, or book for the "White Clay Challenge" (21km half-marathon) on the 29 August 2009 - which is held from Coffee Bay's Ocean View Hotel, to the Hole in the Wall, and back to White Clay.

    Spinnaway is an ideally situated, double-storey, seafront house, consisting of two identical self-catering apartments (one on each floor), with a shared double garage. Each apartment sleeps 5 people in two bedrooms (one double bed and three single beds) and has an open-plan kitchen and lounge that lead out onto a deck with built-in braai place. The wide view, from the beach to the cliffs, is un-obscured.

    The beach, with safe swimming lagoon, is only a 2-minute walk away, as is a scenic walk that winds along the top of the Morgan Bay cliffs. For fisherman, the location is ideal, with access to the rocks in front of the house only seconds away.

    Spinnaway can be rented either as two separate 5-sleeper self-catering apartments, or as a house sleeping 10.

    Outspan Inn is situated in Port St Johns on the beautiful wild Coast at the mouth of the Umzimvubu River. A short walk across the lawns takes you straight down to First (our!) Beach. Its not a swimming beach. but is great for sundowners, walks, building sandcastles and fishing. All our rooms are seafacing, but because we are environmentally aware, and bird friendly, the swathe of coastal bush between us and the beach is left intact for the birds (120 of the 250 species found in Port St Johns have been seen at Outspan Inn).

    The B&B rooms are all en-suite, selected rooms have DSTV. The swimming pool is fenced and the gardens are child friendly. Pets are welcome if they are well behaved.
