Instructions:
Step 1: Create your page by clicking on "Web Page" below the "Create Content" menu.
Step 2: Add a relevant subject/title for your page (E.g. your business name).
Step 3: Select your town or area from the drop down menu (E.g. Port St Johns). This step ensures that your page will appear on top of the relevant page. It's last come first served, so newest additions will always appear at the top of the page.
Step 4: Select the relevant categories from the Tourism entry box (E.g. Accommodation, Cottages, Self catered). You can select multiple categories by holding down the [Ctrl] key on your keyboard.
Step 5: Optionally enter additional (comma separated keyword tags. (E.g. surf, horse riding, adventure).
Step 6: Put your Contact details and description here, in the wysiwyg editor (What You See Is What You Get) below the menu bar. E.g. (Hint: Use the Bold, Underline, Italics, text alignment and other tools on the menu bar.)
Step 7: Add pictures by clicking on the insert/edit image button. There are 3 ways to add images (A, B, C), and step by step instructions, as well as explanations of their relative weaknesses and strengths follow below.
hen click on the Browse icon on the RHS of the "Image URL" field. Another pop-up window will appear. Click on "Upload", and then the "Browse" button, which will appear at the top, and allow you to browse the local folders on your computer to locate your image.
Once you have located the required file, click on the "Upload" button, and wait for the file upload to complete. Once the image upload is completed it will appear in a preview window. (Note: the time this takes depends on your connection speed and the size of the file. It is not recommended to upload files larger than 500k).
Then click on the "Send to tinymce" link at the top of the page.
Lastly, check the "Appearance" and "Advanced" menu tabs for alignment and sizing options and click [Insert].
It may seem convoluted, but it's pretty straight forward if you read the screens.
This is the recommended method for uploading images, as there are numerous advantages.
• control the size and alignment of your images easily
• create thumbnails and alternative sizes
• keeps an easily accessible online database of all your image uploads in a personal directory
• wysiwyg: move and resize images easily while you are editing and laying out your text.
As explained, this means you cannot work in the wysiwyg editor and should know a fair bit about HTML.
That's it. The image will automatically be scaled to size, but the problem with this method is that the image will appear at the bottom of your page and you will have no control over it's placing or appearance.
Note: If the layout is not working according to your expectations, re-edit your page and click on the "Input format" option and select "Full HTML".
